The second stop of the ADAC MX Masters led to the Austrian Möggers and took place under the best conditions and with a top-class field.
Following his hand injury, Jeremy Sydow was back for the first time since the MXGP of Matterley Basin in March alongside his team-mate Filip Olsson under the DIGA Procross tent.
On qualifying Saturday, both athletes could confidently qualify for the championship races. Jeremy Sydow finished fourth in his group with a time of 1:42.9 and Filip Olsson finished 12th with a time of 1:44.9.
Jeremy Sydow got the seventh gate pick and had a very good starting position, which he used well with the Holeshot. From the start Sydow was able to be in front and win the race sovereign, with a lead of about 10 seconds.
Filip Olsson came back from the first lap only in 20th place and fought his way up lap by lap with constant lap times. At the end of the race, Filip Olsson saw the checkered flag in tenth.
The second race was as perfect for Jeremy Sydow as the first one. After the second Holeshot of the day Sydow defended the lead throughout the race and also won the second race with a sovereign lead of over 6 seconds. Filip Olsson came out of the starting ramp much better in the second race and took tenth place after the first lap. Olsson could defend this place but not long and fell back in the second round to the 14th place. During the race Filip Olsson had many tackles and finished the race in 14th place.
In the daily standings Jeremy Sydow took first place with the two race wins and Filip Olsson got 11th overall.
Jeremy Sydow: „Honestly, we did not think about starting because I was not sure if it was too early. Therefore, I came here without any expectations and was pleasantly surprised. I would not have thought that I could celebrate a double victory in my first race after the break, which of course is a huge success for me and the whole team. “
Filip Olsson: „It was a difficult weekend for me. I did not feel 100% comfortable, but still took important points for the championship classification. “
Justin Amian: „The comeback of Jeremy could not have gone better. He showed all his talent in both races and achieved two sovereign race victories. For Filip Olsson it was a difficult weekend but he has taken important points for the championship ranking. “
